The bottle

From bottom to top: a fully designed Nørrebro bottle
In March 2006 Nørrebro Bryghus sent the first bottled beer on the market. Søren Varming from Punktum Design designed the bottle. The sketch for the bottle was originally a part of the design programme, rewarded by the Danish Design award in 2004.

A flower on the shoulder
The bottle can contain 60 cl. and is well proportioned, with a stout body and pronounced shoulders. The bottle it self is also decorated with elements from the foundation of the design, which gives the bottle a unique touch. The flower is the foundation of design at Nørrebro Bryghus and is branded on to the shoulders of the bottle.

Brings light to shelf
The label stands out from other beer labels. It is extremely simple – the only graphic element on the label is the flower and the name of the beer. The labels are designed with the intention that the bottles, with their golden shade, should light up on the shelf among the other beers.

The round Nørrebro Bryghus logo fits perfectly to the top of the beer bottle and it is therefore an orange circle that bids you welcome, when opening the bottle.

The right brown shade
The brown shade of the bottle is about the only that the designer had no influence on. The shade is solemnly decided by Anders Kissmeyer and has precisely the colour that preserves the beer in the best way, protecting it form light.

The bottle and the label is put together at Holmegaard Glasværk.
